The process of playing games changes over the years – from the hardware part and also from the very internal experience. Companies offer some brilliant gameplay ideas implemented in successful products, various features of multiplayer, and many additional aspects of interaction between gamers. Assets exchange is a relatively new phenomenon in the industry. Is it good for the game culture? Is it good for the players?
We at Paracosm Project, do not separate the process of playing games from other exciting activities around them, including assets exchange. That’s why we create a platform and service, able to unite the gaming experience and boost it to the new level.
This article gives some examples of how the possibility to exchange assets with other players affects the gaming experience in a positive way. Also, the same examples are valid for game developers.

- Additional quests and extra motivation to accomplish them
Getting something rare in a game is an excitement in its own. Still, the real value of in-game items becomes obvious only in comparison to other values – for example, other items. Assets of a limited edition may be a kind of treasures, which other players wish to have, giving their different treasures in return.
Getting items in a game with a potential possibility to exchange them to other items is a powerful reason for players to return to a particular game more often. Adding such items to a game is a reason for developers to come up with even a bigger quantity of interesting quests.
- No frustration and repetition
Many in-game items can be obtained through a special random algorithm. The chance of getting something valuable might be very low, and players may feel frustrated from many unsuccessful attempts to fill their collection with amazing skins or efficient tools. Of course, developers shouldn’t make their customers frustrated – even if it’s only because of the necessity to repeat one mission again and again for getting that crate and missing the desired item one more time. Assets exchange is a great alternative for gamers. For developers, this is a chance to avoid some negative sides of randomly given prizes.
Post Scriptum CTG (by Paracosm Project) and Altar: the War of Gods (by our partners Wanted Games) have Booster Packs with random playing pieces. It’s not so hard to get nice tokens from them, and even if you don’t have something particular, you can get them through exchange on Caer Sidi.
- Social interaction
In the modern world of technologies, we communicate through many intermediations, and the gaming world is one of them. Social interactions here aren’t limited to multiplayer matches. Assets exchange opens an additional reason to get in touch with other people. Ok, that’s often only an automatic process – but there is an alive human being on the other side, and this small thing may grow into something bigger, probably, in a friendship.
Social interactions on the Paracosm platform are so various, and we provide users with innovative intermediation – CrossParacosmic VR Hub, which is already available in its pre-alpha state on CaerSidi.net.
- Save achievements
After playing one game for a while, players may feel bored. They continue their gaming life in other virtual universes – there is no lack of interesting adventures in the modern game industry. But what about their precious achievements from the previous games?
It’s nice when players can exchange items inside of one game. It’s much better when they can do this between games. Such a feature will be implemented on the Paracosm project thanks to the Caer Sidi service. We plan to open two possibilities for this: through the internal currency Caer Sidi Credits or directly if the developers of those products have such an agreement. This and other aspects of Paracosm Project have been described in the article “Paracosm platform and Caer Sidi service explained”.
This post mentions things that aren’t ultimate in their positive power – assets exchange can improve the gaming experience, and also it can be a spoiler. Cautious balance of various gameplay aspects and surrounding activities helps to release exceptional products. The idea of items exchanging should be supported by other opportunities for gamers and developers to help to exist a successful gaming ecosystem. We bring these ideas to Paracosm Projects to make the world of gaming a better place.
