The collectible token game “Altar: the War of Gods” is preparing for the upcoming alpha release. Its developer is the indie-studio Wanted Games, our partner, so Altar will be exclusively available on the Paracosm platform with the tokens connected to the Caer Sidi service.
Some basic information about this CTG was given in the article “A glimpse at Altar: the War of Gods”. Now, we are ready to reveal a bit more facts about this game – mostly about the primary pantheons, sets of playing pieces that represent characters from various mythologies.
The official site is launched
First of all, let us invite you to check out the fresh and shiny new website of the game – Altar.Games.
It contains basic guides and detailed information on various aspects of the gameplay. Delving into articles there is a nice way to feel the spirit of the game and get a significant theoretical basis for your upcoming successful matches.
The genre of Altar is a collectible token game. Players get stacks of tokens, which make up their virtual armies. Matches here represent battles between gods. Their tokens are supported by entity pieces from the same pantheon. Events take place on a digital playing board.
After coordination with Wanted Games, we announced the alpha release of Altar in our plans for Q2-Q3 2019. According to them, the Paracosm community will be able to try the alpha version even in the 2nd quarter of this year (May-June).
Initial testing is quite significant – it may reveal some weak points to fix and give new ideas to implement. We know this in practice, thanks to the closed alpha testing of Post Scriptum CTG and the valuable help of our Ambassadors.
Three powers of Altar
The battles of tokens deliver a meaningful idea about the power of our attention – the more we pay it to something, the stronger that something becomes in our personal universe.
Deities from real-world mythologies struggle from a lack of people’s attention – it’s like a life power for them. Whom would you help to become stronger?
Our Caer Sidi Pre-Sale contained Starter Packs for Altar – with three basic pantheons included (Aztec, Japanese, Indian). After the game release, players without this Starter Pack will begin with Aztec pantheon and will get Japanese pantheon for free after completing the tutorial. Indian pantheon will be available as a separate purchase. Additional tokens are available right now with Altar Booster Packs on the site CaerSidi.net.
These pantheons are more than just images on virtual tokens. They have different abilities and can be used for different in-game strategies. Of course, these pantheons bring different atmosphere to your play experience – so first of all, you should like them.
- Aztec pantheon is filled with might and even aggression. Deities from Mesoamerica quite represent the natural environment of their origins. Read about them in more detail in the article “Aztec Pantheon: Wilderness and Bloodthirsty”.
- Japanese pantheon can bring the power of tricky, well-planned strategies. Deities of Shinto (the Japan located beliefs) often personalize subtle energies around us. Shinto rituals are detailed and thought-out – this attitude is kept in features of Japanese tokens. Check out the details in the article “Japanese Pantheon of Altar: Diversity and Combinatorics”.
- Indian pantheon is a set of tokens with calm personalities who can still burst with astonishing, nicely directed power. India is a country of spiritual wisdom, which often conveyed in the form of interesting stories. Playing pieces with Indian deities make up well-balanced token armies of the game Altar. Read about them in the article “Indian Pantheon of Altar: Balance and Harmony”
“Altar: the War of Gods” will also have a real-world version. Thanks to the “magic” of Cross-Reality, physical tokens will keep the same information as their digital analogs. This data will be written in the distributed registry of Tangle.
